E - Short title, smart story: Director Jananathan, whose debut film Iyarkai won the National Award last year, is directing the movie E, starring Jeeva and Nayantra. Produced by R B Choudhary of Super Good Films, the film has created huge expectations. Jeeva is slowly coming into his own (his Dishoom is doing well and Jananathan is critically acclaimed.

Jananathan says he was happy with his earlier venture, which brought him an award though not a financial reward. 'This time I am confident of striking it rich on both counts.'

On the title E, he says, 'It' about an angry young man Eswaran, abbreviated as E, pitchforking Jeeva in the pivotal role. Nayantra plays a bar dancer who reaches from Mumbai after the dance bars have been banned in the State. She develops romance with Jeeva.

‘Commercial viability is important. I realized this after the success of Thirupachi, where I gave the break for director Perarasu. I was keen on coming out with a commercial entertainer. When Jananathan narrated the story, I gave the go-ahead at once,’ says Choudhary.

Jeeva says 'Jananathan is an excellent director whose skills were evident from Iyarkkai. E is a movie with a different storyline. I have stunts and emotions in right-mix in the movie. We have touched a burning issue in the movie’

‘I took time to understand my role in the movie and prepare myself for the same. After Ram and Dishoom, I am confident that E would leave an impact among film-buffs, he adds.

Nayantra says, 'it is a good movie and I am thrilled to be part of this. It is an offbeat role for me but I have enough opportunity'. Ekambaram, who cranked the camera for Iyarkai will be handling the same job for E too.
